I'm a geek - let's face it. A lot of my friends as of late have been building their own homegrown DVR boxes. Some use windows, some use linux and MythTV. The whole problem with this is that Windows is going to be loaded down with DRM, and just reading through the linux stuff makes most people cringe. I see a real market growing for an easy to build DVR setup (maybe just a single box, or maybe a client/server setup like MythTV) that would be small, light, and very fast.
So, all we would need is the DVR software built on top of Haiku, and then hardware support for several boards (like the Via Epia) and video capture cards that would be supported by this - and then a lot of promotion. But, this may carve out that initial niche market that Haiku can thrive in.
Any takers - I've too much going on right now but I wanted to throw the idea out there in case others wanted to run with it.
