Well, I've found these haiku error messages:

those seem to be the "original" error messages from netpositive as well their original authors.

Scilab (Science and Engineering software) port

Forum thread started by andremun on Sat, 2005-10-08 20:46

Greetings,
Other app that could be usefull to make Haiku a more popular OS is a port of a science - engineering program, like some MATLAB, MAPLE and Mathematica. One program that is very mature and is open source is Scilab. In the next address is the access to the download page for the source for the linux and win port.

Idea for application security in R2

Forum thread started by Izomiac on Fri, 2005-09-23 03:19

Haiku, eventually, will have to have some sort of user or application based security, preferably before it becomes too popular. I was just thinking that perhaps something a little different from (or perhaps in addition to) the traditional user/file permissions setup would be nice. Right now most Linux users (AFAIK) and some Windows users have a restricted account that they use for their daily work and an administrative account for when they want to make system wide changes. I personally have tried this and, while I think it's a good idea, O find it quite annoying in practice (installing applications for instance, since I, like many desktop users, do that quite often). It also lets any executable you install have full run of either your personal files (home directory) or the system (if it runs with additional permissions).

(same as before, i posted it in suggestion, rather than feature, when it was a feature request. i need to ask an editor to delete them from suggestions)

i posted two sepparate topics, since they are two diffrent ideas. i hope that's ok.

windows should snap to edges or other windows

Forum thread started by fanton on Tue, 2005-08-16 15:43

(i've posted this in suggestion, but was really a feature request. i did not notice that there was a feature request thread available).

children should snap to the parrent.

the best example is the same way winamp works. when you drag the playlist you can move it around, but close to the main window it snaps to it. when you move the main window, you move the playlist as well. this feature would give me much relief from the need to arrange windows so that they look good.
