Contact Info On web site and forum

Forum thread started by Disreali on Sun, 2004-07-18 04:11

Both the Haiku web site and the forum need to have a publicly accessable list of contact information so that people can contact team leads, webmasters and forum administrators. I spent 4 days trying to register for this forum and could not. It should not be difficult to contact any of the leaders of this project.

I realize that reducing spamming is a major concern these days, the lack of contact info is not good for this project.

.NET support through mono

Forum thread started by kainhart on Fri, 2004-07-16 21:21

I'm not famililar with programming in BeOS but I'm a developer very interested in the OS. One thing that I feel would generate a lot of attention for Haiku is if a group was working of a port of mono or some other .NET port to run on Haiku or any BeOS implementation.

OpenGL, superior : OpenRT, Trancendental.

Let me start by saying that only through HAIKU have I realized the truth of OpenGL vs. Direct3D. I had always just thought that because all the game manufacturers supported it most, it must've been the best! Lol, hindsight can be 20/20. Im glad to see that HAIKU is based on OpenGL, and now, I hope to bring to the table new light for us in the form of the OpenRT platform; Take alook at this "..fully armed and operational battle-station!" ~Palpatine

One word (sort of) T-shirts!!!

When, where, how much will it take for me to get my Haiku t-shirts?!?! My trusty ol' white and black BeOS shirts need a break!

grammar kit?

Forum thread started by Admiral Horror on Mon, 2004-07-12 18:43

How about including a grammar kit with features like spellcheck and maybe a grammar check that applications could call? The dictionaries installed for each language would be system wide, meaning that if user added a new word through one application it would appear in other apps.

NDIS Driver wrapper?

Forum thread started by Tezkah on Sun, 2004-07-11 04:59

This is Linux project to support WLAN cards that there is no binary or source or even technical data available. I'd like to eventually install Haiku on a Intel Centrino Laptop that I'll be purchasing within the next month. Although Intel is working with the community to support their miniPCI WLAN (integrated with all Centrino laptops) on Linux, I doubt that they would support a project like that for Be/Haiku. Hence, an NDIS wrapper might be the best that we can do.

Reorganising the Deskbar

Forum thread started by smashIt on Fri, 2004-07-09 18:12

Don't know if it's already implemented in Open Tracker/Deskbar as I run the version that came with R5.

Would be great if you could drag around entries in the Deskbar.
Currently if you want the entries in a special order you have to start the apps in this order.
