Syllable vs Haiku

Hi! I'm new to So alternative OS. And I want to you know Test it.
And I just want to know how much is difference between Haiku and Syllable? I found some news but they are sooo old (from 2006) As far as i know Haiku develops extremly fast :) Which is very good.
The Only thing i know (but not sure) that syllable was ported to linux and i don't know why it EATS my PC and lags(on VirtualBox i have over 40% cpu time).

But How much syllable works better or worse?

Now, this is something that hasn't completely taken me by surprise - an operating system with a lightweight user interface supporting only Javascript applications.

The questions are:-

- How flexible with the API be?
- Will it be possible to create standalone (non network based) applications (guessing yes?)
- Is this OS likely to be at the leading edge of abandoning the desktop for web based technologies as we move toward working more and more on the web?
- Could Haiku eventually support running similar apps in its own desktop environment, managed by the Haiku window manager on behalf of an embedded version of Tranquility? (or whatever the name will eventually be)

Just some thoughts about this new system... I think without seeing Chrome OS, I'd still rather run Haiku on my EEE since it would feel more like my own system.

What are your thoughts on this new OS and the future of the web AS the operating system? Should there be a better scripting language for the web? Maybe ECMAScript 4, Lua or something else...

I DLed a torrent copy of magnussoft ZETA 1.21. I wanted to install it on my Dell B110, has a PCI nvidia 5200FX installed, but it works with VESA in case of no driver. I use a wireless mouse and keyboard, and I booted the Cd i burned from this image onto a Cd-rw, that was full erased. i get past the start lights, then the hand cursor comes up, immovable, with the blue screen. I DLed it from TPB, so it could be the image, but does anybody have this issue?
