What do you think? Should we move all posts to the general discussions forum or is this really needed? It seems that most of the posts here would easily fit into the "General" category becau

Has anybody played around with BeOS and the new Dual Cores. I thought I read somewhere that some have had luck but can't find the information again.

Information on chipsets and or MOBO models that work would be great. The prices just dropped and I'm itching..

Shared memory

A friend of mine would have me believe that a graphics induced memory access contention (on a shared memory asus laptop) can be minimized by reducing the amount of memory allocated to the graphics controller. However, I am of the opinion that, if anything, reducing the screen resolution and pixel depth is how the cpu memory access would be improved.

It actually boots...

Forum thread started by noisetonepause on Wed, 2006-05-31 12:16

I bought a VIA Epia M10000 Mini-ITX motherboard, added a bit of RAM and threw it in a Venus case. I'd been told it didn't run BeOS at all, but I had to try it anyways... And it boots! It uses VESA graphics, I think, but it seems decent enough. It doesn't recognise the networking interface though, much less the audio, but I've got PCI replacements for those and my case will take two PCI cards if I get a riser which I just might. It's lovely. Ever so lovely.

I'm starting a new checking account and was wanting to get some specialized checks. Thing is, I want them to be computer orentated. Most of the personalized check places just have dogs, cats, and mountain vistas.
