SoB rank 11 - Great job!

Forum thread started by Hai_cu_be on Sat, 2007-10-27 20:56

So we've done it again ladies n gentlemen. Another slot has been taken in the long withstanding SoB Distributed computing league. Thanks to all you 91 Team Haiku members who contributed cycles to make this happen.

As you can see, we're now soon in the top 10 which has been a goal for quite some time.

On a related note, we did finish 9 in Pi Segment which is a completed DC project now.

As you can see from this list http://www.dc-vault.com/showteam.php?team=228 we're doing well all over the place but obviously we're in constant need of more crunchers in SoB as well as other projects.

Congratulations all, and as we continue to get to the upper slots, people make notice of Team Haiku and especially Haiku!

recommended projects

Forum thread started by TheNerd on Tue, 2007-09-04 15:00

OK. I'm now getting tired of all the problems with SETI@home lately (the lack of work currently and the past hardware problems). I am considering switching to one or more other projects. I am currently running depspid on 2 of my machines.

What are the other recommended projects?

PS> I was looking into Eternity II but it doesn't look like it's available in Canada and the US ToysRUS site doesn't appear to ship cross-border since they have toysrus.ca. :(

joining the team?

Forum thread started by TheNerd on Thu, 2007-08-16 11:47

Hi there,

I've been running distributed computing apps for quite some time. I currently dedicate 2 computers at my work to SETI@home. I am currently a member of SETI.USA (don't know why because I'm Canadian) but am looking to switch to Team Haiku. I noticed that SETI@home is no longer on the list of projects that the team participates in. Would it be a big crime to join the team but stick with SETI@home?

Are there any other prerequisites that I need to meet before joining?

New SB targets?

Forum thread started by jojo on Thu, 2007-08-16 08:37

I've recently added some production to TeamHaiku.
How about putting up some new targets to reach?
I purpose these:

* 10th or higher in Total Production and Overall Rate
* 3rd or higher in Last Day's Rate :)

Regards,
Johannes Lundberg

Congratulations to All: Position 13

Congratulations to everyone involved in the TeamHaiku Seventeen or Bust assault.

We've now surged ahead to position number 13 in the Total Production stakes, just ahead of zgeek.com

And now it's onwards to position 12 - DarksideDC who seem to have stopped production completely.

A day of expansion!

We're surely going up... but can we do it quicker?

Considering the last months of new people seeing Haiku, wouldn't it be likely that we can recruit some more crunchers? Surely we provide power enough to keep us climbing on our current lists, but seriously, I think there are a lot more people who would want to support our beloved team, simply don't know it yet ^^

on Free-DC we're in slot 92, that's far too bad to be acceptable. On DC-VAult we're up to 15, that's where we should be...

Anyone have any ideas how can can get some more dual cores on board?

New Sites for both Haiku and Team Haiku!

I can't resist trying out the new forums on the new haiku-os.org site.

Team Haiku (community project) also has a new web site - www.teamhaiku.com up and running. It still needs quite a bit of work, but it helps in keeping track of progress.
