Update to Project List - 9/9./2006

Forum thread started by Katisu on Sun, 2006-09-10 00:56

I have updated the project listing (Sticky: TeamHaiku distributed projects). Please review the listing and notify me if there are any errors. The descriptions need work - help would certainly be appreciated. I'm trying to present a better view of the projects and their requirements in terms of technology and time. I am requesting that if you know the typical completion time of a work unit on your computer for any of the projects please post/send me the CPU type (and any other specifications that might be useful) and time for unit completion.

2P cEMs - another milestone on SoB

Forum thread started by Katisu on Sun, 2006-08-27 06:13

As of yesterday, TeamHaiku has surpassed the 2P cEMs mark on the Seventeen or Bust distributed computing project. We are currently in Position 15 in Total Production. It gets tougher from this point. At current production rate, we can expect to move 2 positions on the way to 3P. If we get some extra help, we could potentially overtake zgeek.com and do 3 positions. Thank you to everyone for their continuing support.

Back in biz

Sorry about being quiet for the longest of times and having slowed down me production a bit.

Expect to be up to speed within shortly however. Summer is finally over, production machines are back online and the electricity bill is growing as normal =)

TeamHaiku is now 15th on SoB

Well, last night we finally put the last nail in Fuzion's coffin and took over 15th place.

During the chase, we acquired 16th place several days ago when we both passed "Team Ninja".

It looks like we'll be sitting in 15th place for a while, and the next team we pass is most likely to be Team Norway who is crunching at about 1/2 our rate currently.

Managing SMP on Windows

Forum thread started by myob on Mon, 2006-08-07 05:04

I've not contributed anything since my Windows laptop died (unrelated to running SOB, mind), but I've got a 2x2.8Ghz Intel machine here now running XP. Currently I've got two seperate instances of the client, both running for TeamHaiku of coure, but I'm not sure this is long term safe - for the client not the machine, it can well handle it. Is there anything else special to make sure both cores are kept busy?
